In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a gulf air departing at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were published on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as the president's closest aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good asst", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this day with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he added: "They are trying to proceed. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the people here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

May was finally toppled in 2019 after withstanding two votes of no confidence in December 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
