This January transfer window is typically a period of feverish rumour and possible major transfers. A number of prominent stars are being linked with transfers out of their present teams. We examine some of the key names that might be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

This England centre-back has continued to excel for Crystal Palace despite a previous move to Anfield collapsing. As his contract set to run out in the close season, this represents the club's final chance to obtain a fee for their skipper. A host of elite clubs, such as City and multiple continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly be interested. Yet, a winter departure is considered difficult, especially given the manager's reliance on the player.

B. Johnson

The Wales forward has found starting opportunities limited at Tottenham this campaign. Although finishing as the club's top scorer last season, Johnson has begun just a small number of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the North London club is willing to consider a transfer for the right price, thought to be in the around forty million pounds. The Cherries are currently at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace additionally credited with an inquiry.

The Turin club are desperate to tie down the 20-year-old to a lengthy agreement but face a battle to retain one of the continent's most promising young talents.

Kees Smit

The highly-touted Netherlands teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his playing style. After impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has broken into the AZ Alkmaar side. This teenager is heavily tipped to make a major transfer in January.
