Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the formal statement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an exclusive katana alongside numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series previously showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
